Policy & Sustainability Manager – SkyNRG PNW (US)


We are seeking a US-focused Policy & Sustainability Manager to join our US team. As Policy & Sustainability Manager, US, you will be responsible for building and sharing SkyNRG’s policy and sustainability agenda to ensure the scale up of our sector in the most responsible way. This role reports to the Head of Policy and Sustainability and will closely support the US team while coordinating with the Amsterdam team as well.

SkyNRG is a dedicated team of professionals working to materially decarbonize the aviation sector through the sales, distribution and production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) since 2009. We have the largest dedicated SAF team in the world with our Headquarters in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. We work collaboratively with all relevant stakeholders, from airlines, businesses, governments, and NGOs to academics, and we do not compromise on sustainability in our effort to bring new fuelling solutions to the aviation industry.

About the position

The SkyNRG Policy & Sustainability team is responsible for driving positive SAF policy developments, safeguarding the sustainability of SkyNRG’s SAF and managing corporate sustainability policy. To this end, the team informs and seeks the advice of our Sustainability Board to ensure our SAF meets environmental and social criteria. The team works closely with our partner NGOs on developments in the sector and interacts with government stakeholders and industry partners to advance policies that incentivize the production and use of SAF. As Policy & Sustainability Stakeholder Manager, you will:

  • Lead the development of SkyNRG’s federal and state level policy agenda
  • Actively participate in and lead engagement on behalf of SkyNRG in (inter)national and state policy venues and sustainability platforms
  • Support the overall activities of the Policy & Sustainability team
  • Prepare documents, briefings, communications materials, and other work products for internal and external audiences
  • Act as a key policy & sustainability expert for our customers and partners
  • Monitor the latest policy & sustainability developments within the SAF sector
  • Work with other teams at SkyNRG to support cross-cutting sustainability and policy priorities

Expected compensation

Annual compensation commensurate with experience and industry benchmarking – anticipated base salary range is $105,000 to $125,000 depending on qualifications of the candidate.


This position is a remote position with a preference for a Washington, DC based individual. Some business-related travel to the SkyNRG Bend, Oregon and Amsterdam, Netherlands offices expected, as well as select policy engagement in key US policy markets.

Your profile

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with significant experience; Master’s degree preferred
  • 3-10 years of working experience, in the field of policy, sustainability, renewables, environment, or related fields
  • Demonstrated experience engaging in global, US federal or state level policy activities; experience related to energy or climate policy preferred.
  • Highly effective communicator with great interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize time and projects
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently (both virtually and in-person) with minimal supervision
  • Proactive, curious, collaborative, and independent yet thrives in a team environment
  • Leadership abilities with a strategic and collaborative mindset
  • The highest level of personal and professional integrity
