Sales Manager


For our headquarters in Amsterdam, we are looking for a Sales Manager to join the Sales & Propositions team, to oversee the sales process from initial interest to contract signing. The ideal candidate is able to both closely manage the sales funnel and the work of our Sales Leads, and take on a commercial role when engaging with their own leads.  

SkyNRG is an advanced scale-up that works at the forefront of decarbonizing the aviation sector to help meet its climate goals. We have the largest dedicated SAF team in the world, working autonomously where possible and collaboratively where needed. SkyNRG develops SAF production factories worldwide, sells and supplies SAF to different customer segments, and researches new innovative ways to convert waste or other materials to SAF. We work collaboratively with all relevant stakeholders, from airlines, businesses, governments and NGOs to academics and consumers, and do not compromise on sustainability, ever.

About the role

The Sales & Propositions team is responsible for the commercialization of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and the development, management and growth of SAF products including Board Now and Fly on SAF. We work in close collaboration with our sourcing and capacity development teams to ensure our SAF finds an end-user and to grow the SAF market. Our team has a diverse and ambitious customer base across the value chain: airlines, corporates, freight forwarders, travel companies and more. Through these partnerships, we strive to make the aviation industry more sustainable.

Responsibilities include:

  • Setting out sales strategies for different products in line with commercial strategy and in close collaboration with the Product Manager.
  • Ensuring that high quality sales materials are created and updated.
  • Collaborating with our Marketing team to set up appropriate lead generation campaigns.
  • Ensuring the sales administration is up to date and correct.
  • Keeping overview of the sales funnel and sales results, making sure the right sales efforts are set up to achieve annual goals.
  • Provide accountability and support to the Sales Leads, setting them up for success (2 FTE and growing grow). E.g., proper lead assignation, keeping an eye on sales progress and response time, advising on commercial terms, conducting final checks on proposals, etc.
  • Organizing and managing weekly sales meetings to track sales efforts and progress on KPIs.
  • Be a linking pin with other teams to ensure sales efforts are in line with sourced / available SAF volumes, and sold volumes are supplied according to plan.
  • Generating sales forecasts and keeping an eye on trends to inform strategy.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our (sales) processes and product portfolio.

Your profile

As a young company and industry, we constantly need to adapt to changing circumstances. The Sales Manager is expected to adjust the sales approach as needed and manage the sales funnel in a disciplined way. Qualities that would make you a good fit for this role are:

  • You have 5-8 years of work experience in a relevant role, e.g. (technical) sales manager, project manager. Your previous role(s) included coordination, negotiation, and commercial considerations. Previous experience in dynamic environments is considered a plus.
  • You are assertive. You spot opportunities for improvement and proactively provide suggestions or solutions. You can take on projects with limited guidance.
  • You are able to manage processes and people, getting the results you need while keeping a positive working relationship.
  • You care about details and want to make sure they are correct. You want to understand, and have a quick grasp of, technicalities.
  • You have a good understanding of commercial considerations and can suggest solutions that make sense for our business.
  • You can translate strategy into action plans and communicate expectations.
  • You are analytical and have a good understanding of Excel.
  • You are excited about building our business across the world and a more sustainable (aviation) industry.
  • You are fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • You are committed to a diverse, inclusive and equitable work environment.
  • You are based in the Netherlands or willing to move. And in possession of a valid work permit.
