Amsterdam/London, 27 October 2026 – SkyNRG and Think Beyond today announce a new partnership bringing together expertise in sport and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to put sustainable travel higher on sport’s sustainability agenda and turn ambition into action. Together, they will connect leaders across both sectors, share knowledge, exchange best practices, and identify practical opportunities to reduce the impact of travel.
Sport has proven its ability to drive societal change, using its global reach and influence to engage communities on issues ranging from inclusion to sustainability. Across the industry, sports organizations are already taking meaningful action to reduce their environmental impact, from improving venue operations and energy efficiency to tackling waste and procurement.
But one of sport’s biggest sustainability challenges lies beyond the stadium: travel.
Travel is fundamental to sport. It brings athletes, teams and fans together and enables major events to connect communities around the world. The goal is not to stop travelling, but to reduce the impact of the journeys that remain necessary.

For air travel that cannot be avoided, SAF is one of the most viable solutions available today to reduce aviation emissions. SAF can typically reduce lifecycle carbon emissions by around 80% compared with conventional jet fuel and can be used in existing aircraft and infrastructure.
The partnership will also explore how sport can use its wider influence to accelerate change, from engaging fans and commercial partners to helping build greater demand for sustainable solutions.
