Amsterdam, 24 April 2023 – SkyNRG, a global leader in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), announced the appointment of Noud Tillemans as its new Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, he will be part of the management team and take over from cofounder Theye Veen, who will remain as Chief Commercial Officer.
Noud Tillemans has extensive experience in finance, banking, and renewable chemicals. He joins SkyNRG from Fairphone, where he was CFO and Managing Director. Prior to that, he was Finance Director at Avantium, a pioneer in renewable chemistry and bioplastics. During this time, he was involved in several funding rounds, including Avantium’s IPO in 2017. Before that, Noud worked in finance and banking amongst others at ABN AMRO.
Following the initial investment of up to €175 million by Macquarie Asset Management – Green Investments in November 2023, Noud’s expertise and experience will support SkyNRG’s growth and particularly the development and operation of SAF production facilities. By 2030 SkyNRG aims to build its dedicated SAF facilities in Europe and the US, in cooperation with strategic offtake partners. To date, SkyNRG has secured partnerships with, amongst others, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Boeing with envisaged long-term commitments of up to €4 billion in SAF purchases.
Philippe Lacamp, Chief Executive Officer of SkyNRG said: “We are delighted to welcome Noud to SkyNRG. He is an experienced finance professional with a strong track record in the renewable sector, whose capabilities and purpose driven principles fit well with SkyNRG. Noud will be a great asset to our management team and our company as we enter a new phase of growth.”
“I am very excited to join SkyNRG and contribute to its mission of making air travel more sustainable. SkyNRG has a clear vision and strategy to become a major SAF producer by 2030, with dedicated SAF facilities in Europe and the US. I admire their frontrunnership and I enjoy working for companies that have a clear purpose and with intrinsically motivated people. I look forward to working with the team and our partners to achieve our ambitious goals.”
